There are potential benefits and costs to you if states implement new programs to sustain or improve the quality of rivers and streams near you. Researchers at the University of Connecticut, on behalf of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, seek to understand how valuable potential changes in water quality in rivers and streams are to you, your household, your community, and the nation through your participation in an online survey.
We are asking you to participate in a survey that will greatly help federal and state administrators of the U.S. Clean Water Act to choose the programs for quality of water in rivers and streams, by identifying the tradeoffs citizens prefer.
Your participation is entirely voluntary, and you may choose to stop at any time. However, we encourage you to complete it as our results can affect communities across the US, particularly in the northeastern states.
Your identity will be kept confidential, and your responses will never be associated with your name in any research.
